Self-understanding is not the destination; putting your strengths to use is.
Everyone Has Something Worth Recognizing
Some people excel at bringing perspectives together; others work with meticulous care. Some need a stage, while others thrive through quiet dedication. TPES is not about judging people as good or bad. It helps unique talents and personalities find a place to shine.
From Understanding to Meaningful Development
Understanding yourself is not the end of the journey. When we understand how someone thinks, what matters to them, and where they encounter resistance, we can find better ways to work, learn, communicate, and grow. This is why TPES brings talent, personality, and empowerment together.
From Research, Tools, and Services to AI
From 1991–1997, Personality 14 and the Six Core Domains established a foundation for understanding people. From 1997–2013, the work expanded into talent, learning, and career exploration. From 2013–2024, personality, competencies, and development recommendations were systematized. From 2024–2026, TPES Coach and AI Agent were further integrated, turning report insights into ongoing dialogue and action.
Why start with personality and talent?
Looking only at outcomes can blur very different causes. Someone who has not started may be unclear about the goal, afraid of making mistakes, or disagree with what is being asked. Without understanding why, simply asking them to be more proactive may not lead to meaningful change.
TPES seeks to provide a shared language so individuals, managers, teachers, and coaches can discuss natural tendencies, inner needs, and situational responses more systematically, then identify interpretations worth testing and practical ways to offer support together.
Personality information is not the only answer. Professional knowledge, skills, experience, resources, and environment all need to be considered.
How Has TPES Developed Over Time?
Start with Personality Understanding
Personality 14 is one of the foundations of TPES personality knowledge. Educator Hsiu-Yuan Wang's books on personality, learning, and parenting bring individual differences into work, parenting, and everyday life, offering an accessible introduction to personality.
From Theory to Digital Applications
According to the TPES development record, educator Hsiu-Yuan Wang began collaborating with Chi-Ming Chang of Taiwan's Ying Teng Information Consulting in 2013 to systematize assessment, analysis, and application methods. The focus was not simply to put assessments online, but to organize personality information into content people could read, discuss, and apply.
Extend Reports into Role and Talent Development
As applications expanded into businesses and schools, a new question emerged: 'Once we understand someone's traits, how do we connect them to the competencies a role requires?' TPES therefore incorporated competency models, role competencies, talent reviews, and development methods into its overall framework to support judgment and development in different settings.
From professional practice to AI support
The 2024 to 2026 development record identifies TPES Agent as a key direction for making professional applications more accessible. AI is included to help users apply these methods at work and in life, not to replace the judgment of professionals and the people involved with automatically generated text.

How do we understand empowerment?
Empowerment is not an expert telling someone 'this is who you are.' It helps them build the capacity to understand, choose, and act.
For businesses, it gives managers and HR a more consistent basis for discussing talent. For schools, it connects student development to learning and practice, beyond classification alone. For coaches, it turns insight into actions a client can take. For individuals, it supports self-understanding while leaving room to change and choose again.
